Overview
Wangjinu was a member of the Shaji Fucha clan of the Bordered Yellow Banner during the early Qing Dynasty. Volume 25 of the official Qing Dynasty clan genealogy, *The Comprehensive Genealogy of the Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners*, records that he led his clan and followers to submit to the Qing, initially forming half a *zuoling* (a military unit), which he commanded. After his death, his eldest son, Wanjiha, succeeded him. The original genealogy explains *fucha* as a clan name derived from a place name, with clan members distributed in Shaji, Yehe, and Neyin, etc., not all Fucha members belonged to the same banner or branch. A *zuoling* served both as a basic banner unit and an official position; half a *zuoling* was a record of organizational scale and could not be interpreted as an individual obtaining half an official position. The genealogy at the Dalian Library places Shaji City southwest of Xingjing, which could serve as a regional clue for the area around present-day Xinbin, Liaoning, but the exact location still needs further investigation. The biography details the official positions, hereditary titles, and posthumous honors bestowed by relatives of the emperor upon Wanjiha's eldest son, Haxitun, his son Misihan, and descendants such as Maqi and Li Rongbao. The Minister of Revenue was in charge of central finances, while the Chief Steward of the Imperial Household Department handled royal services and finances; these were two distinct roles. It is certain that Wangjinu himself led the people to submit and organized the banners. Maqi's experience as a Grand Secretary, Li Rongbao's posthumous title, and Fuheng's appointment all belong to his descendants.
