Clan and Banner Background

The Shukeduli clan is recorded in volume 62 of the Comprehensive Genealogy of Manchu Clans of the Eight Banners, with Heilongjiang as its ancestral region. Akeshan of the Plain Blue Banner submitted early and held an official position of the seventh grade, but the source does not name the office. His son Aidaha served as a cavalry-company officer, his grandson Genbao as a defence officer, and a great-grandson Geste as a second-class princely-household guard. Other great-grandsons, Shufang and Shude, were serving as bithesi when the genealogy was compiled.

Family Service and Distinctions

Cavalry-company and defence officers administered banner military duties, while a second-class household guard served in the system of princely retinues. The term bithesi, associated with copying, drafting, and translation in official departments, identifies a different administrative career. These descendant positions should not be attributed to Akeshan.

Kinship, Succession, and Evidence

The seventh grade recorded for Akeshan cannot be expanded into an invented office based on later family careers. The historical term Heilongjiang is broad and does not locate a specific natal village. This entry preserves identifiable distinctions between office grade, banner military positions, and document service while leaving exact locations and appointments open to further research.
